Substantive change is a significant modification or expansion of the nature and scope of an accredited institution. The reporting and review of substantive change is required by the SACSCOC to ensure that the scope of 贝博体育 offered by the institution have undergone appropriate review by the Commission. The SACSCOC Board of Trustees has approved substantive changes that require notification and, 在某些情况下, 实施前的批准. 某些实质性变化需要事先通知SACSCOC. The following policies and 程序 are established to ensure timely reporting of substantive changes to the Commission.
1. The responsibilities for reporting substantive change are regularly communicated to all college faculty and staff by means of the President’s Annual Policy Memo.
2. The Bylaws of the College’s Academic and Curriculum Council make 负责机构效率的副总裁, 规划, 学生成功倡议/SACSCOC联络处是理事会的常任成员. This council is the body with primary responsibility for decisions regarding the college curriculum.

Non-compliance subjects the institution to monitoring, sanction, or removal from membership. 未能获得批准, 如果需要, of a substantive change involving 贝博体育 or locations that qualify for Title IV federal funding may place the institution in jeopardy with the U.S. 教育部, including reimbursement of funds received related to an unreported substantive change.
